Between Amarillo and Canyon, the ATSF crosses the north end of Palo Duro Canyon. A westbound train with engines 1174-1113-1160-1101 (a matched set of GP20's) crosses Palo Duro Canyon at 11:00AM. It was common during the early sixties, for ATSF to run matched sets of freight power.
